The Training board consists of a control unit and an LED/Solar cell unit. It is used to draw the characteristic of a solar cells by making the light fall on the solar cell from different distances, also by varying the area on which the light is falling on the solar cell.

LED/Solar Cell Unit

This unit consists of an aluminum rail with 50 cm scale printed on it. Two plastic riders are placed on this rail and can be moved and locked at any position on the rail. Riders have the provision to hold solar cell and LED light source. LED source is connected to the power supply on control unit and the output of solar cell is also connected at the input on control unit. It is provided with a variable load of 1100 ohms. Control unit: Control unit consists of a variable power supply for LED to vary its intensity, two digital panel meters of 2V and 2 mA. Input for solar cell and a variable load of 0 – 1100 ohms. The cabinet is a combo of metal and plastic powered by three-core lead to provide foolproof earthing to metal parts. Kit includes patch cords and an operating manual.
